Description

Villa Tranquila is a home of historical beauty. With stained glass windows, original interior artwork and spectacular grounds, this spacious home is a vacation destination all in itself. If you're looking for elegance, privacy and convenience of location, there is no need to look further.

The Living Room features a large decorative river rock fireplace, comfortable seating arrangements and a large flat screen TV. Numerous windows and doors look out to the backyard; gracious archways lead to a hallway on one side and the dining room on the other. The mahogany dining set seats 12 guests.

The Gourmet Kitchen is a chef's delight, complete with stainless appliances that include a six burner Dacor professional gas stove, a griddle and two ovens. Through the breakfast nook and past the quaint side entrance is the master suite and the other downstairs bedroom.

Downstairs Bedrooms and Bathrooms: The Master Suite is spacious with a fireplace, King bed, a Double futon, an entertainment system with a flat screen television and French doors leading to the back hot tub deck. Off the master bedroom is the master bath, featuring a double vanity and a dual-head walk-in shower. The master bathroom features a door leading to the hallway, so it can be easily shared with the occupants of the second bedroom. The second downstairs bedroom has a King bed. There is an additional half bathroom (toilet and sink) off the same hallway.

Upstairs Bedrooms and Bathroom: Stairs from the front hall lead to the Upper Level that offers 3 more bedrooms and 1 full bathroom. The room at the end of the hall features a King bed and a flat screen TV. The second upstairs room offers a King bed and the third bedroom has 2 Twin beds. All 3 bedrooms are filled with natural light and provide gorgeous views from the windows. The full bathroom has a separate shower and bathtub.

Over 1/2 Acre of Gated, landscaped grounds surround Villa Tranquila. The front circular driveway winds between a lovely garden, lawn and the front entrance. The backyard is a tree-lined hideaway, with views of forested hills in the distance. The backyard consists of a large, in-deck 6 person spa, dining patio with a state-of-the-art barbecue and smoker, chaise lounge chairs, decks, large lawn and woodsy lower area. Villa Tranquila is located at the top of a hill in a quiet, scenic neighborhood. It's only a ten minute walk down to Guerneville's shopping, dining, nightlife and the Russian River.

Know Before You Book:

Parking: There is parking in the circular driveway for 5 cars.

Maximum Occupancy and Quiet Hours: The maximum occupancy at Villa Tranquila is 12. Quiet hours are from 10:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m. Outdoor amplified sound is prohibited at any time.

Bed Sizes: Downstairs Master Bedroom: King bed, Double futon; Second Downstairs Bedroom: King bed. Upstairs Back Bedroom: King bed; Upstairs Middle Bedroom: King bed; Fifth bedroom: 2 Twin beds that convert to a King bed.

Heat Source: Central heat and air conditioning, 2 wood burning fireplace - living room is decorative. Master bedroom wood burning fireplace- no wood or kindling provided.

A note about the hot tub: Minerals in our local municipal water can react with the treatment for the hot tub, and cause a greenish hue.

This home was the perfect for hosting my sister’s bachelorette. It fit 8 women comfortably and the kitchen was well stocked. The place was also very clean. Overall, we had a wonderful time. Our group has rented Villa Tranquilla for the past three years. The spaciousness of the property allows for both time together as well as time more spread out. The kitchen layout is great for group meals, too! It's a great property for team building! Although the hill is a little steep, it is located within a walkable distance into downtown Guerneville. We would love to return year after year!

Super helpful and quick communicators. The house was lovely, perfectly sized and very clean. Easy instructions for check out. Zero complaints and would absolutely stay here again! My only suggestion for others driving in from SF, when arriving in Guerneville and about to pull into the neighborhood, do NOT take Morningside Drive. Go a little further down and take the back way in via Armstrong Woods. Morningside Dr has a terribly scary and steep drop, and a very skinny road, as you are circling up the hill to get to the house, with no guardrail, making it especially difficult to drive up in a large SUV. Besides that, it was fantastic. Such a wonderful experience! thank you so much!-via Airbnb

The Versailles of Guerneville

My husband and I rented Villa Tranquila for my 60th Birthday weekend. We wanted a place to spend quality time with our chosen family, gathering over coffee in the morning and dining together in the evening, while allowing everyone to do their own thing during the day (the R3 Pool, the Kortum Trail at Sonoma Coast State Beach, historic Fort Ross, etc.). Villa Tranquila did not disappoint. The 8 of us had ample room in the large, historical house and the multiple “rooms” in the garden to be together or spend time in solitude as we pleased. One of my fiends dubbed it the “Versailles of Guerneville.” It was so quiet. We are all from the city and we all commented on how well we slept in the quiet, peaceful neighborhood which is yet so close to downtown Guerneville. Most importantly, the roomy gourmet kitchen and large dining rooms (inside and out) allowed us to dine in the evenings and celebrate together, even accommodating a few of our friends that live in Guerneville. We had considered renting a villa in Spain or Portugal or Mexico for my 60th. But due to COVID we decided to stay close. Sometimes fate hands you the right choice. It was perfect! Close enough to SF for all to be able to attend. And world class beautiful all the same. I'm so happy we chose Villa Tranquila.

Villa Tranquila was a beautiful way to spend a weekend outside of the city. Even though it wasn't the warmest day, we were able to enjoy all the outside activities. The house is so peaceful, tucked away on the top of the hill above Guerneville, and an easy walk into town with lots of bars and restaurants to enjoy. The house was perfectly stocked with cooking materials and a huge kitchen big enough to make family meals for all the guests. The hot tub was a perfect way to end the day. I will absolutely be booking this spot in the future!

Wonderful Family Get Away!

This property was everything we expected and more. Highly maintained even in the off season months. The property itself is nestled in a little community of homes a little up the hill. However, when you enter the gates, once you shut them, you feel as if you are almost totally secluded from seeing any of your neighbors (great for privacy if that's what you enjoy). The open landscaped grounds are a highlight of this home as well. You can sit quietly and read, meditate in both the front and back yard or have a BBQ, sit in the hot tub and picnic in the back yard. The house was absolutely wonderful. It is not a modern build and that's what I love about it. So many architectural aspects ranging from stained glass to murals on the ceiling. Old tile in the bathroom. There is however, a very updated kitchen and the most wonderful stove to cook lots of great family meals on as we did. Comfortable seating for at least 10 and more. There was 9 of us in the group and we had more than ample room. Not hard to find privacy or go off to another room if you want a moment away from group activities. We were all so very impressed with the lovely culture in this house. As a reference, it is not an "old" house but an "old style" house. This house has absolutely all the updated amenities you could hope for. With great Wifi, ample linens, modern working bathrooms, beds, etc. The pictures of this home are true to life and do not disappoint. A few regulars: All the right cooking utensils you could need and even some we didn't but made our lives easier because they were there. Plenty of storage room for food, drink and large refrigerator. Loved that there was a smaller half bathroom for use aside from the large one right next to it. Great parking for several vehicles. comfortable beds, board games and magazines/books, etc. We will definitely be back to this one for sure!

This was an amazing place to stay for a get away weekend with some old college friends. The house could not have been more perfect. A close proximity to the beach as well as to many wineries, we spent a couple of days exploring each. The home had a gorgeous kitchen, which I truly enjoyed cooking in. We also were within walking distance to the town, and walked to coffee one morning, as well as a fun restaurant one evening. The hot tub was very relaxing after a day at the wineries. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and we slept so well each evening. The house feels like it is very secluded, as it is surrounded by beautiful gardens and trees. This property truly fits its name of Villaa Tranquila. It was a lovely experience and I can't wait to return!

I booked this house for my friend's bachelorette party. The grounds are beautiful, we enjoyed hanging out in the backyard and near the hot tub. Very comfortably slept 8 of us, could have probably done 9-10. Kitchen was great for cooking — large and well stocked. We walked downtown for dinner (10-min down hill to Sea Metal Oyster), and drove an easy 2-miles to Armstrong State Park for hiking. Also 20-min to some great wine tasting. Hot tub would not heat above “bath water” temperature - about 95 degrees.3. A couple of the burners on the stove would not light.4. Towels smelled musty. It was the perfect home base for exploring all that Guerneville and the Russian River Valley have to offer. River Homes was very easy to communicate with and were quick with their replies. We would definitely stay at Villa Tranquilla again.-Airbnb

The property and the location, at the top of a windy hill, was serene. It was the perfect getaway for both my and my wife's family to enjoy all of what Russian River has to offer. It was a great place to start and end the day with easy access to a host of great activities--the Pacific Coast, Redwood Hiking Trails, Headlsburg, Calistoga, etc. We found ourselves each night either on the patio or around the dinner table talking late into the evenings. The venue simply fostered a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. As we were also in town for the Ironman, it was also located just close enough but also far enough away to escape the craziness that always takes over a host city. We were easily able to get back and forth to support a member of the family who was participating. All in all, we could not have asked for a better experience and our expectations were exceeded with Vila Tranquila

Overall this property was lovely, with a large, fully stocked kitchen, a dining room big enough to seat our entire group, and a great big living room. We did have a problem with an ant invasion due in large part to the recent flooding, but that is no ones fault. My main issues were lack of supplies. Not enough towels for a full house of people that wanted to use the hot tub and take showers (or even paper towels to last through the weekend). Or places to hang wet towels when all the room are full. Hooks would be very helpful! It was very clean though, and the kitchen was stocked with tons of spices!

Amazing wine country experience

Villa Tranquila was the perfect rental for a perfect week. The group included 5 adults. Everyone was satisfied with the sleeping and living arrangements. The only downfall was the 2.5 bathrooms - one more full bath would have been great. The kitchen and open breakfast area was great for talking while cooking. Because of the weather we were not able to fully enjoy the outdoor seating area however it looked beautiful. The house is outside of the more familiar wine country towns however the town of Guerneville is cute and there are great restaurants and vineyards within 20 mins.
