Description

Roskamp is a darling Riverfront cabin with its own private access to the Russian River. Welcoming and comfortable, Roskamp is the kind of family home that makes for memorable vacations.

Though small in size, the open, well-lit common areas have an easy flow, making time together in this friendly space relaxing and enjoyable. The living, kitchen and dining spaces are equipped with the essentials. The dining table comfortably seats 6, the living room has spots for reading and watching TV, and the kitchen is fully stocked for cooking. A short hallway leads to the bathroom, with stall shower, and the two bedrooms - each with a Queen bed. The single daybed under the window in the dining area accommodates one more overnight guest.

Roskamp has ample outdoor space to enjoy. The deck, with lounge chairs, outdoor dining table and propane BBQ grill, and river view, is located off the living room. The lower lawn has additional seating and room to play. At the far end of the lawn, dirt stairs lead down to the river. The dock and boats are available during the summer months when the river is dammed for recreation.

Know Before You Book:

Maximum Occupancy and Quiet Hours: The maximum occupancy at Roskamp is 5 people. Quiet hours are from 10:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m. Outdoor amplified sound is prohibited at any time.

Parking: There is parking for three cars. RVs, trailers and campers are prohibited, per the Sonoma County Vacation Rental Ordinance

Bed Sizes: 1st Bedroom: Queen Bed. 2nd Bedroom: Queen Bed. Dining Room: Single Daybed.

Heat Source: The home is heated by a gas fireplace. There are electric heaters for the bedrooms and another space heater for the living space,

A/C: The home has a wall-mounted AC unit.

Stairs: There is an exterior flight of stairs to the front door. There are earthen stairs to the river dock.

Docks and Boats: Docks and beaches are seasonal only and available from mid-June to mid-September providing the summer dams are in. Canoes, kayaks, paddleboats and rowboats that are provided in some of our homes are also available from mid-June to mid-September only. The river is usually too swift for boating in the winter and many docks and beaches are under water until late spring.

Common Amenities not Included: No dishwasher

Proximity to wineries: The closest winery and tasting room is Korbel, approx. 1 mile east. There are numerous wineries and wine tasting rooms within a 20 minute drive.

Nearest River Beach: Johnson's Beach, Guerneville, CA. 1 mile

Nearest Ocean Beach: Goat Rock, Jenner, CA. 13 miles

Summer Rotation Day: MONDAY
During the Peak Season, which runs from June 19th through the end of the 3rd week in August, Roskamp has a 7 night minimum and rents on a Monday to Monday pattern. If you make an online reservation outside of this rotation day requirement, we may contact you about altering your dates.

My girlfriend and I get together for a girls weekend every year. Your place was amazing. It had everything we needed for 2 people. It was easy to keep the place warm with the gas fireplace, the kitchen had everything and the beds were very comfortable. Being able to sit on the back deck and enjoy the river and the beauty of the trees was magical. I look forward to booking with you again next year.

Excellent place to stay on the Russian River. Wonderful amenities, rustic cabin vibe without actually sacrificing any necessities. Very convenient location. The kitchen has what you need to get cooking. They were even some decently firm pillows to choose from. My neck did not hurt at the end of the trip! Only things of note, if you are particular: the mattresses are touched squeaky, and proximity to the main road means you hear traffic.-via Airbnb

Just a few suggestions: I suggest a keyless entry. Opening the lockbox was a bit of a challenge. The cleaning fee was overpriced. I stay in many Airbnb’s and find all of these inflated fees are getting out of hand. I realize that a property management along with Airbnb fees adds to this sites inflation. Other than that it was a great place and perfect for a family with children.-via Airbnb

The place is beautiful and peaceful which was exactly what we were hoping for. It has a nice backyard and just a few steps down and you are at the Russian River. The deck has a beautiful view too and we enjoyed the sunset and the bird show. If you are into games there are many to choose from. If I have to give an idea to make it even more pleasant would be a fresh coat of paint and the place would be spotless. I’m looking forward to coming back,it was fun.-via Airbnb

The stay was nice, very pretty location. The home is very dated and the mattresses in the bedrooms, not very good quality, but overall it was clean and comfortable. We loved the permanent dock because it was so much easier for us to get in and out of the boats and chill in a chair to watch the kids swim. The house had most everything we needed to cook meals and BBQ. There was plenty of space for the kids to run around and keep busy. My husband and I especially enjoyed the daybed in the dining room to read and keep cool. It was in the high 90s during our stay, but between the shady dock, the river activities and the fans available in the house, we couldn’t tell. The home is near a busy street so you do hear traffic all day and night if you keep the windows open. It is not safe to walk into town imo from this location. We love the proximity to everything as opposed to the other side of the river. Really easy to get to Armstrong, the local market and all of our favorite places to eat.-via Airbnb

What a place! A bit rustic but very well appointed inside- the kitchen had absolutely everything we needed. Really lovely, quaint place. Right on the water with dreamy views. Well equipped kitchen, lots of outdoor space. Was perfect for our couple’s getaway. It’s a little frustrating to book on air bnb and then have to login to a separate portal, but not the end of the world. There was no phone number we could use to call our host but they were relatively prompt responding by message. Would definitely stay again. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. A really beautiful place.

Roskamp is charming place with an interesting history. I could envision people clinking glasses and singing songs at this home on the day WWII ended. Mornings were very tranquil on the back deck, where we saw enormous birds perched high in the trees, wings outstretched in the early morning sun. We drove to the beach to swim - there are several beaches, all close by. The businesses couldn’t be more helpful and friendly to tourists. (The 5&10 store is fun for everyone.) Alissa from the River Homes agency was professional, helpful and on top of everything. Thank you so much!!!

This is an older home but great location. The town of Guernville and near by Sebastopol are adorable towns. The owner responds quickly to your questions just ask! For example,when we asked of the kayaks she informed us that the Russian River was too low this Spring season for us to enjoy the kayaking. And it was very low. The property mgmt also responded very quickly to a house repair. Downtown Guernville is very close and we found a bike rental shop with a fabulous bike trail.sourced via VRBO

I don't get the opportunity very often to take a weekend break - so really appreciate it when I book a rental & everything turns out to be better than expected. The location is just beautiful and very convenient for downtown Guerneville. Big garden with breathtaking views & access to the river. Water is low at the moment - so no kayaking, but I did venture in for a paddle. Very quiet and peaceful. I read other reviews which said that there was a lot of road noise at night - but to be honest, it didn't bother me. The house is clean, well equipped and comfortable. Booking/communication was a breeze. Definitely recommend & would love to return in the summer. - via AirBnB

Our second time to Roskamp and so glad we stayed an entire week. We can never tire of the awesome dock- the section of the river is incredible (great water depth, excellent neighbors, awesome views, short paddle to Johnson's beach and Stumptown). the quick easy access to multiple boats is fantastic! (Although I don't advise steps to dock for elderly and anyone not sure footed and stable. ) The house is small but very cozy, comfortable and well equipped. The noise from main road is pretty loud (when in bedrooms) so recommend bringing a sound machine. The back yard is spacious, parking is ample and the location is great. The house has a wonderful history too. Very special week for our family. Can't wait until next summer!

Roskamp has a comfortable living room, spacious deck with lots of seating and a grill, and a well equipped kitchen. The yard is spacious and there are tons of yard games. Most importantly, there is a nice private dock with a canoe and several kayaks. Really nice that it's dog friendly, too! Communication was easy and check-in was a breeze.

Roskamp was a perfect spot for our family of four (kids ages 7 and 10) and our dog. The house is just big enough—the bedrooms and bathroom are small but the living room and kitchen/dining area are more spacious and open. The kitchen had all the basic pots and pans needed—I was even able to bake cookies (FYI, the cookie sheets need replacing). They could use a few more spoons soup spoons, serving spoons). There were a handful of games in a cabinet, and it was nice to be able to do a load of laundry. We really didn't take advantage of the yard and river access since it's winter—instead we hiked and went to Shell Beach—so we'll have to go back for some River fun!

My family and I just came back from an amazing weekend at Roskamp. The only downfall is the traffic noise, especially weekday mornings. Although, when you get down to the dock, it's peaceful.The house was perfect for our family, 3 adults and 2 kids 4 years and almost 2 years. Lots of games, nice deck, huge lawn area for the kids to run, just a very cozy feeling.The best part was the river. In some parts the water level was low enough for the kids to stand, so we all felt comfortable in it.Would definitely stay here again.

We were hoping for a relaxing weekend on the river to celebrate Father's day with the family, and this place was perfect. The house was comfy and well stocked with everything we needed for a relaxing stay and river fun. We loved taking the canoe out on the river, and chilling on the dock watching all of our bird neighbors. Conveniently located next to Stumptown Brewery, our favorite place to grab a beer and a bite and watch the river on a big outdoor patio. Lots of games and fun for our 3.5 year old. Would definitely come back.

This was the perfect little getaway for the holiday week. Cozy days and evenings by the fire. Quick drive to town. Definitely think the river access and yard would be great in the summer too!
