Description

Rise and Shine is the perfect spot for families and friends to gather and LOVE the Russian River! With so much to do, you won't want to sleep in - but you have our permission to close the curtains too. The pool and hot tub in the backyard are just part of the multiple levels of decks, patios and yard - all fenced for your safety. Challenge your traveling companions to a game of badminton in the backyard or pool, foosball, and ping-pong in the downstairs recreation room! There's plenty of room to spread out or come together for fabulous meals inside and out. Speaking of cooking, the kitchen was recently updated and is well-stocked - including a coffee and tea station to jump-start the morning!

You won't lack for entertainment and technology either! There are 4 flat screen TVs throughout the house. The master bedroom and living room TVs are equipped with Hulu, HBO, Netflix, Amazon FireStick and surround sound. The rec room TV has cable and DVD/VHS players. And there's a record player (with a selection of vinyl records) as well as iPod mini speakers.

This sleepy residential neighborhood offers an easy walk to the beach with the provided kayaks (seasonal - see note below) already at the beach for your use and relaxed walks with the dog and family. Rinse off at the outdoor shower when you return from the river. Or head into town, the coast or wineries. It's all just minutes away when you stay at Rise and Shine.

Know Before You Book:

Maximum Occupancy and Quiet Hours:
The maximum occupancy is 8 people. Quiet hours are from 9:00 pm until 7:00 am. Outdoor amplified sound is prohibited at any time.

Parking:
There is parking for 3 to 4 cars - 1 to 2 in the garage and 2 more in the driveway. Street parking is scarce. RVs, trailers and campers are prohibited, per the Sonoma County Vacation Rental Ordinance.

Bed Sizes:
Primary bedroom with en-suite bathroom: Queen bed; Second bedroom: Queen bed; Third bedroom: 2 twin beds together as a King bed; Living Room: Queen sleeper sofa.

Pool Heat:
The pool is kept in swimmable condition year-round, but is heated from late May to mid-September, only. When heated, the temperature is typically between 75 and 80 degrees. The pool has a solar heater, so the heating depends on the abundance of sunshine and weather in the area.

Heat Source:
This house uses a Nest thermostat for the central heating system. The rec room is not heated.

A/C:
The house does not have air conditioning. Being near the coast, the night time temps drop and just opening some windows is usually enough to cool the house.

Stairs:
There are three sets of stairs: one set from the parking area to the front door - outside; from the back deck to the lower level deck and yard - outside; from the main living area to the downstairs rec room and garage - inside. Each set is approximately one story of stairs.

Rise and Shine boasts a large workspace in a bedroom and an extra table/desk space in the living room.

Fencing and Pool Safety:
The backyard is fully fenced and there are gates at the top of the stairs from the upper deck to the lower deck where the hot tub and pool are located. For safety, there are locking pool gates with alarms. Please review the in-home information for locking and alarming instructions.

Noise Sensor and Doorbell Camera:
We use a device called NoiseAware to monitor the volume (not content) of activity in the backyard. There is a doorbell camera at the front door.

Beach and Boats: When available, the kayaks for Rise and Shine are already at the neighborhood beach for your use! Boats and beaches are seasonal amenities and generally available from mid-June to mid-September providing the summer dams are in. Canoes, kayaks, paddleboats and rowboats that are provided in some of our homes are also available from mid-June to mid-September only. The river is usually too swift for boating in the winter and many docks and beaches are under water until late spring.

Proximity to Wineries:
Korbel Winery is the closest winery at 4.8 miles, but there are two tasting rooms in downtown Guerneville 2 miles from the house.

Nearest River Beach: .
This sleepy residential neighborhood offers an easy walk just down the street (0.2 mi) to the beach with the provided kayaks already at the beach ready for you (seasonal - see above). The beach changes with the season and from year to year.

Nearest Ocean Beach:
The coastal beaches in Jenner are approx. 15 miles.

I really cannot overstate how much we enjoyed our stay at Rise and Shine! All amenities were as listed, and the space was both clean and very homey. It felt like visiting your friends house when you're a kid - the one with all the stuff yours doesn't have! A pool, a hot tub, a pool table, table tennis, Foosball, a great selection of board games, and a giant TV! Both the inside and outside spaces were large, spacious, and well layed out for multiple people to enjoy them. While we were a group of adults, the property invites kids and it seems like it would work really well for families. Our inner children certainly loved it. Other things we loved: I had a few questions during our stay, and our hosts responded quickly and very kindly. The neighborhood is quiet, with hardly any vehicle traffic. The neighborhood beach is an easy and almost totally flat walk - totally doable for even those who want to take it easy. While we didn't end up using them, the kayaks already at the river is great. -via Airbnb

The pictures didn’t do this place justice. Wasn’t sure what to expect but the living room and family room was spacious enough for my friends and family of 8. The kitchen was equipped with everything which was nice. The only concern I had was figuring out the tv and how to watch regular cable channels. I realize, I’m not a techie person but I thought I could figure out the tv. Was trying to stream from my iPhone but couldn’t get it to work. Not a huge deal but would be nice just to have basic cable. We didn’t use the pool or hot tub so can’t comment on that but everything else was great for our holiday get together. Thank you so much!

Comfortable home. We traveled with our kids, parents and pup. Everyone was comfortable at the house and it was well stocked in the kitchen. Space was cozy, access to the river was very nice (only a short walk) and area was what we expected for the Russian River. We were there in October and although it was a HOT weekend, the pool was COLD — as expected, but be ready. Hot tub was HOT and a great treat.-via Airbnb

We had a short, lovely stay at Rise & Shine. The house was clean, the communication was timely, and everything (save the coffee grinder) worked great! Our kids loved the pool and the game tables, and we parents enjoyed the hot tub. We also got to swim in the river a little and watch movies in the evening. Good Getaway

We rented this place for a getaway with grandparents visiting from out of state. Our kids 2 & 6 loved the property and we had plenty of room. The kitchen is well stocked with many appliances that don’t come standard with a rental (although we couldn’t find a pizza cutter). There were kid dishes as well. There was a pack and play and high chair that were unexpected but useful. We thought that April might be warm enough to use the pool, but it wasn’t. The game room downstairs also is not temp controlled, but we just bundled up and turned on the space heater when we wanted to play pool in the evening. There is private river access a short walk away and we saw an otter on our first day. Overall, a good place to relax.-via Vrbo

this place was fantastic for our extended family of 6 adults and 2 kids. The kids loved going back and forth between the freezing cold pool and the hot tub and playing foosball in the basement. there is so much in this house--great kitchen equipment, toys, games, outdoor toys. The basement is huge, and we were planning ot have the kids sleep down there but didn't realize that its not insulated or heated, so it is very very cold in november (and the space heater didn't do a great job of heating up such a large space).

Our family has been renting this house during Summer vacation for the last 10 years and it is our absolute favorite! Our kids have grown up swimming in the pool, grilling and eating on the deck, playing ping pong in the garage and swimming and kayaking at Drake's beach. It is the perfect house for a family getaway and has all the needed supplies for an amazing vacation. Location is perfect, walk to river and close to pee-wee golf and town. We will be back for sure!

This was my second time staying at Rise and Shine. The home is spacious and comfortable for our group of 4 adults and 2 kids. Kids loved the pool, hot tub, river access and all the games at the house. Adults loved the location, quiet neighborhood and comfortable living spaces. There was a slight heat wave during our stay, with temperatures in the 90s, but the house cooled down fast in the evenings with help from the ceiling fans. We did have a slight issue with the hot tub during our stay, but the property management company resolved it the same day. Overall a wonderful stay, we hope to return and would recommend to others.

This property has all the bells and whistles at a great price. It has something for everyone and is a great home for kids and adults. There are only two possible issues. There are lots of stairs. So getting to the front door, to the yard/pool/hot tub, and to the game room would be taxing for anyone that doesn't handle stairs well. So please consider any seniors, including senior dogs. We stayed in November but the weather was pleasant only rained one day. The game room is awesome but very cold as there is no heat and its drafty. Im sure it's fabulous in the warm months. Bedrooms are great. Kitchen is small but lovely and has everything you need. House has a lot of area rugs and for some reason they were all rumpled up and not flat, so need to be super careful not to trip. I can't imagine this is normal for this home, so it might not be a permanent issue. The yard is great for kids and dogs, but there are areas of the fencing that are just 4 ft wire and a dog that really wants out could get over pretty easily. The decks are great and although you have neighbors on all sides, the trees make it feel pretty private. The owners have gates on all levels so you can confine children and pets safely without having to be hovering over them every second. Great house, very clean and comfortable.

The house was amazing and just what was needed for a SIP vacation. The pool was cold in October but we swam anyway. There was a 24 h power outage during our stay and the host made sure we had access to lanterns, gas stovetop and BBQ and fireplace so it ended up being a fun adventure in spite of our bad luck. Rise and Shine Vacation House has everything you need for a perfect family vacation. We walked 5 minutes to the private river beach everyday for kayaking, lounging and swimming. We swam in the pool and relaxed in the hot tub. We cooked amazing meals in the kitchen and BBQ grill. And every night we played in the game room and board games. This house has it all... you really only need to bring your clothes, food, and a desire to unwind.

This was the perfect spot for a family getaway! The location is conveniently situated close to town and main roads, yet also was tucked away in a cute neighborhood surrounded by redwoods and a short walk to the river. The house itself is very spacious. Beds very comfy. We loved the basement rec room and outdoor patio w/hot tub. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook large family breakfasts and thanksgiving dinner. Kayaks, various flotation rafts, beach chairs, a cooler, life vests and everything else you need to spend a day at or ON the river. Our kids also loved the pool, jacuzzi, ping pong table and many board games. We played several games of Clue. My only recommendation is to add a Sonos speaker to the game room. Overall

I booked this rental for a bachelor weekend with some close friends. It was perfect. All 7 of us fit perfectly. The moment we arrived we were greeted with some sunshine, wine and a beautiful pool. The house is full of all you need to BBQ and cook up a storm. We had a ton of activities planned, such as wine tasting and canoeing on the river but we could have just stayed at the house the whole wknd. You can swim, cook, play ping pong, cards, watch a movie, relax in the jacuzzi and star gaze. The house was very clean and the property management team was on it! I've stayed in the area numerous time and this house is by far my favorite.

Overall

I stayed at Rise and Shine over Mother's Day weekend with 4 girl friends and it was perfect. We brought food to cook and the house supplied all the gadgets and seasonings we needed to make it a delicious meal. A coffee maker with a grinder too! Easy access to wineries and downtown Guerneville with Big Bottom Market to grab sandwich's (get a biscuit, Oprah says so. They're amazing). Or just stay at the house drink rosè and relax by the pool listening to your music on the Sonos.
