Description

Poet’s Corner is a tasteful hideaway, offering privacy, comfort and style. The lush, peaceful surroundings and warm, inviting interior spaces work to release worldly concerns and leave the mind inspired. Any season is a great time to soak in the amazing hot tub under the redwoods. In the summer, enjoy a BBQ on the back deck. In winter, curl up in front of the cozy fireplace.

Poet’s Corner is easy to access, but feels far away from it all. Parking in the large driveway is convenient and it is just a couple of steps from the driveway to the front door.

Poet’s Corner has an inviting open living area. The kitchen, with gas range, dishwasher, microwave and fridge, is well-equipped with pots, pans, dishes, silverware and all the items needed to cook up a meal. The large square kitchen counter serves as the dining area and four stools comfortably sit around it. The living area has two comfortable couches, a wood-burning fireplace and a TV with Cable. Large windows frame the forest and sliding doors lead out to the large back deck.

A full bathroom, with a tub/shower, is located just off the living area. At the far end of the living room, stairs lead up to the sleeping spaces and second bathroom. The washer and dryer are in the closet under the stairs.
The bedrooms at Poet’s Corner are furnished with comfortable queen beds. Both have cable TV, ceiling fans and doors that directly access the upstairs bathroom. The larger bedroom has a small balcony.

The outdoors at Poet’s Corner have something to offer all year round. The main back has an outdoor dining table and propane BBQ. Stairs from the back deck lead down to a second deck and hot tub area. Cushioned outdoor seating furnishes the second deck during the dryer months. The hot tub is kept hot and ready to go all year round.

Know Before You Book:

Maximum Occupancy and Quiet Hours: The maximum occupancy at Poet's Corner is 4. Quiet hours are from 10:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m. Outdoor amplified sound is prohibited at any time.

Parking: There is parking for 2 cars in the driveway. RVs, trailers and campers are prohibited, per the Sonoma County Vacation Rental Ordinance

Bed Sizes: Bedroom One: Queen Bed. Bedroom Two: Queen Bed

Heat Source: Central Heat. Wood-burning Fireplace in living room. (no firewood or kindling provided)

A/C: The house does not have air conditioning. Being near the coast, the night time temps drop and just opening some windows is usually enough to cool the house.

Dining: The large kitchen counter and stools seat four. There is no other interior dining table. There is an outdoor dining table on the back deck.

Stairs: There are just a couple of stairs from the driveway to the front door. Both bedrooms and one bathroom are located up the interior stairs. From the deck, it is two flights of stairs down to the hot tub area.

Proximity to wineries: There are numerous wineries to visit within a 30 minute drive. The closest winery is Korbel, 5.2 miles.

Nearest River Beach: It's just a short drive to Johnson's Beach in Guerneville or to Monte Rio Beach in Monte Rio. In the summer months, both beaches have snack bar and boat rentals concessions. A section of the Monte Rio beach is dog friendly.

Nearest Ocean Beach: Goat Rock Beach, 12.7 miles

We had a lovely weekend stay at Poet's Corner. It was raining but we had lots of cozy time inside enjoying the log fire, watching the rain on the trees and cooking comforting meals (the kitchen had all the utensils, etc we needed). In the gaps in the rain, we enjoyed the hot tub and walking along the beautiful road up off the highway. A big plus was the enclosed deck areas, so we could let the dogs be outside without worrying about them wandering off. The hosts were easy to reach via the app. -via Airbnb

Check in was a breeze and really liked the web portal for all the info in one place. The hot tub was just perfect. A couple items in the kitchen that were supposed to be there like a coffee grinder were not there. We were only given one roll of toilet paper and half a roll of paper towels. The management company said there should have been more and were willing to send some out. We were at the store anyway so just bought our own, not a big deal. The couches need to be updated they are worn and seating is limited otherwise. All in all a good stay in a lovely area.-via Airbnb

My family enjoyed this cozy home just a 5-minute drive from Monte Rio Beach. The hot tub was especially awesome. The hosts were super communicative and made everything easy. We were worried it would be too hot without AC but the shade provided by trees and the light breeze from the ceiling fans kept it perfectly comfortable. The only relative down sides were the smallish TV in the living room and the master bed was creaky. But overall a lovely place to stay and great hosts.-via Airbnb

Nice retreat away from the City

The house was well maintained and had a very nicely stocked kitchen. The deck was nice, though it is in the shade much of the day and you can hear the road noise (though you get used to this fairly quickly). The beds were both comfortable and access to Netflix was an added bonus. The hot tub was a huge highlight of the trip and it was lovely to sit out and watch the birds and enjoy the redwoods. Proximity to town was also a huge benefit - it only took 5 minutes to get to Safeway and downtown Guerneville. Overall a lovely experience.-via Vrbo

a girls getaway

We had a nice and comfortable stay here, everything was clean and the hosts were friendly in online/text communication. The trees are always lovely to look at and we weren’t far from downtown etc. The only minor issues we came across were: The couches seemed broken or very very lived-in so there was some minor discomfort there, getting on/off of them. There is definitely some consistent car noise from nearby roads so it’s not necessarily quiet when you’re outside. Otherwise the home served its purpose of a quality place for a girls getaway that felt somewhat secluded. There is a neighboring house close on one side (also a rental) that could be bothersome with the wrong neighbors.-via Airbnb

Though the home is in a quiet neighborhood, the main road is down below a steep hill, so it is possible for noise to reach up through the trees, but it's usually not very noticeable. Just as we need to check in if we hear our guests are rowdy, we'll reach out to make sure our guests are subjected to rowdy guests at other rentals. My family and I had a wonderful stay in Poets Corner! It was the perfect location for us who was visiting family in Cazadero. It was very peaceful and clean. The beds were comfy, the kitchen had all the perfect necessities to cook, the feeling of being secluded in the woods was there and all was great. The seating options inside could be better (you sit too high around the island and too low on the couch) but that’s easily fixable. This place is a bit out of the way in a very quiet area, which is great if you don't want to be near the party town of Guerneville itself, as it can get a bit crazy. Also note that the management company, River Homes, requires you to use their own separate system to sign a lengthy rental agreement and communicate with them.-via Airbnb

We ask guests to log into our guest portal as there is a lot of content in regards to the rental home and it will not fit when we try to add it to Airbnb's version. Cute Little House!

We really enjoyed our stay at this cute little house! The location was beautiful with all of the surrounding trees. It is nice and spacious with the bedrooms upstairs and living room/kitchen downstairs. We loved the large deck behind the house and the hot tub. There are neighbors pretty close to one side and we could hear them whenever we were outside. There is a wall of bamboo plants between the properties to try to create some privacy. It definitely creates privacy but does not feel completely private. Other than the next door neighbors, the neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful. This house is exactly as described. I would recommend it! Hot tub was in good working condition. The home was as the pictures showed and it was nice and secluded, one neighbor only. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is I thought that it could use a deep cleaning. The heat lamp came in handy on a single night when the temperatures dropped a bit. The beds were nice but you may want to bring your own pillow if you're looking for more neck support. This house was a great place to stay for our Russian River adventure. From this spot just outside Guerneville, we went out for tastings in Healdsburg and Sebastopol, and relaxing or hiking on the coast and beaches at Jenner. Also, dipping into the river at the beach access nearby or at Forestville. We ate downtown at Big Bottom Market, and Brot and Pat's. And every time we went out, coming back to the house with it's deck and space was calm and relaxing. And of course, having the hot tub to wind down was the perfect amenity.

We came here for a couples get away and it was awesome. The house was cozy we loved the fireplace. The hottub was the best part for all of us. The day we got there we discovered we had no hot water. We didn't bother to call until the next morning in which management was very quick to fix the issue. All in all it was a perfect get away!

The home was unexpectedly in the most beautiful of locations. Everything was as advertised. Loved this house tucked up in the forest. Great deck and hot tub with views. Very comfortable beds and well stocked kitchen! Easy access to the gems in the Russian River valley.Source: VRBO
