Description

Five Oaks is a family vacation dream house with almost an acre of fenced yard, it’s private AND a short walk to downtown Forestville. This modernized ranch house has been in the same family since it was built in the early 1970s and is lovingly updated – especially the kitchen, 2 of the bathrooms, and gorgeous pool area! The family has been active in Forestville since the mid-1800s and their love of the community shows. Walk to restaurants, coffee shops, local shops, and local bike rentals to cruise the West County regional trail – there’s no limit to your activities!

You’ll love playing and lounging in the yard – at the in-ground pool (with safety cover), in pool hot tub, around the gas fire pit, playing cornhole, or BBQ-ing and dining outdoors. Cut flowers to bring inside or watch hummingbirds and butterflies flit from one plant to the next – there’s always something in bloom. Inside, you have ample room to spread out or gather together with a den, family room, and dining room – each with a flat screen TV. And the family room has a ping-pong table!

Know Before You Book:

Maximum Occupancy and Quiet Hours: The maximum occupancy at Five Oaks is 8 people. Quiet hours are from 10:00 pm until 7:00 am. Outdoor amplified sound is prohibited at any time.

Parking: There is parking for 4 cars. RVs, trailers, and campers are prohibited, per the Sonoma County Vacation Rental Ordinance. The garage is not available for parking.

Bed Sizes: Master bedroom: King; 2nd Bedroom: Queen; 3rd Bedroom: Double.
Additional sleeping spaces – each have doors and can be closed off for privacy: Den: Queen Murphy bed; Family Room: Queen Sofabed.

Security Cameras: For the safety of guests and the home, there are active exterior security cameras for the parking area and front gate only.

Heat Source: Radiant (gas heated water) baseboard heaters with thermostats, gas fireplace, and a gas “woodstove.”

Location: Five Oaks is in a residential neighborhood and shares a fence line with the baseball field section of the Forestville Youth Park. During baseball season, you can hear games and practices, but it isn’t obtrusive. Neighboring properties are a mix of retired apple orchards, bright and colorful yards, barns, aging cars, and everyday working people and families. To honor this balance, we ask guests to park inside the fence and respect the quiet hours in addition to general family-friendly, residential neighborhood expectations. Thank you for helping to continue the tradition of a mutually beneficial relationship between vacation rentals and local community!

Stairs: There are a couple of stairs to the front door and from each doorway to the yard. There are two steps inside the house from the kitchen area to the laundry and family rooms.

Fencing: The property is fully fenced when the front gated is closed.

Pool & Hot Tub: The pool is not heated, but it is a very comfortable temperature in the summer. The hot tub is heated year-round and you can adjust the temperature during your stay. Instructions are provided for the hot tub, safety pool cover, and door alarms.

Common Amenities not included: This home does not have Air Conditioning, but there are ceiling fans and the house stays cool relative to outside. The home has Dish Network (satellite, not cable) for TV and the “America's Top 120+ and Local Channels” package. You still have access to Netflix and other app, but you’ll need to bring your own logins.

Proximity to wineries: There are tasting rooms just minutes (by car) from Five Oaks and more than you can visit in several days within 30 minutes.

Nearest River Beach: Steelhead Beach (2.5 mi), Mother’s Beach (3.9 mi), and Sunset Beach (4.7 mi) are all a very short drive from the house.

Nearest Ocean Beach: The coastal beaches near Jenner are approx. 20 miles from the house.

The home comfortably accommodated our family of seven, sleeping in four rooms. Kitchen is very well equipped with plenty of room. House has been renovated nicely and all rooms appeared updated nicely. Lots of parking. --via Vrbo

I just returned from a weekend at River Home with my family (wide range of ages - from kids to seniors). We all had the best time and said we hope to return next year. The house is very spacious with comfortable beds, the pool is large and so fun to swim in (with a hot tub sunk into it), the grounds are gorgeous (including sweet ripe tomatoes and fresh herbs), the kitchen is incredibly well-equipped and the location is perfect (10 mins walk to town). This was one of the best homes we’ve stayed in. Can’t wait to go back.-via Airbnb

Very nice ranch-style accommodation with a superb pool and spa. They allowed checking in an hour early which helped greatly traveling internationally. A walk to the Forestville shops. Only improvements would be having soaps, shampoo, body wash etc in keeping with the premium price, and also allowing daytime visitors.-via Airbnb

We enjoyed a wonderful stay with our family (with a preschooler, a baby, and grandparents. The home is on a beautiful, large and private lot that is conveniently located within walking distance to cafes, restaurants, tasting rooms, local farmers market, a beautiful paved trail and more. The house and furnishings were very comfortable, stayed cool even during the hottest part of the day, and had every amenity. The pool and garden were fabulous! Only a short drive from Guerneville and some of the best beaches on the Russian River. We’d absolutely stay again!-via Airbnb

Five Oaks is a neatly appointed larger vacation home with a truly outstanding pool and hot tub combo, quiet outdoor aspects with space for the kids to ride and play, and more recently painted and new counters kitchen. It’s walkable to Forestville which is up and coming and has an amazing pizza restaurant, a new Brew coffee and taproom, and amazing RYME cellars all downtown. The bathroom showers didn’t live up to the price in our opinion as veteran AirBnb users, being workable but older and with low pressure and flow. The youth park baseball fields through the front fence are pleasantly quiet even when busy on Little League weekends.-via Airbnb

Our stay at River Home's Five Oaks ranch home in Forestville was absolutely perfect! The rental was extremely clean, spacious, and beautifully remodeled. The kitchen was fully stocked and great for cooking - decent grocery store about 5 min drive away. The living areas and bedrooms were extremely comfortable. Our group really enjoyed the ping pong table and board games. Each hangout area had a Smart TV, making it easy to watch whatever we wanted. The garden, pool, hot tub and corn hole are also excellent and a great place to have fun and relax. The rental is also an easy walk to the town center, which has a great pizza place, bakery, among other places. Highly recommend the property and we hope to be back!-via Airbnb

My friends and I stayed at Five Oaks and we had a fabulous time! The amenities are first rate, the house is beautiful and comfortable. The backyard and pool/spa area was so relaxing. It is a very quiet area, but close to all sorts of activities and dining. I would stay here again in a heart beat!
