Description

Austin Landing is an upbeat cottage in the woods - perfect for escaping the hustle and bustle of the city. Ready for rest, relaxation, quiet and reconnecting with nature? This is the answer. With two fully remodeled bathrooms, brand new hot tub and updates throughout the home, you'll love watching the birds in the trees and the starry skies.

Know Before You Book:

Maximum Occupancy and Quiet Hours: The maximum occupancy is 6 people. Quiet hours are from 9:00 pm until 7:00 am. Outdoor amplified sound is prohibited at all times. This is a very quiet residential neighborhood. Please drive slowly and help us maintain good neighbor relations.

Parking: There is parking for 2 cars parked in the driveway and 1 car on the street. Street parking is scarce and the garage is not available for parking. RVs, trailers and campers are prohibited, per the Sonoma County Vacation Rental Ordinance.

Pet Friendly: This home welcomes up to 2 well-mannered dogs. If you have more than 2 dogs or other types of pets, please contact us to see if exceptions can be made before reserving.

Bed Sizes: First bedroom: King bed; Second bedroom: Queen bed; Third bedroom: Queen bed; Living room: Queen sofa bed.

Heat Source: There are electric baseboard heaters in each room plus extra portable heaters in the bedroom closets. There is a wood-burning fireplace insert. Firewood and kindling is not provided.

A/C: The house does not have air conditioning. Being near the coast, the night time temps drop and just opening some windows is usually enough to cool the house.

Baby Items: Austin Landing is a great place for young'ens! The home offers a pack-n-play, a portable bassinet, a high chair and toddler utensils.

Road to Austin Landing: The last section of road to the house is a two-way, one-lane curvy hillside road - mostly paved with some gravel. No special vehicle is required and we provide detailed written driving directions to confirmed guests.

Stairs: There are just a couple steps to the front door and a few from the back porch into the backyard. There are stepping stones and gravel throughout the property. The interior of the house is all one level.

Fencing: The backyard is fully fenced with welded wire material. Please check the perimeter before letting your dog off-leash! It may not be dog-proof.

We LOVED staying here. It's even better than the photos. The fenced-in yard was an A+ for our pups, and the hot tub was spicy and ready to go! This place had everything we needed and more. It was calm and cozy, and the beds were so comfy. It's a 12-15 min car ride to Guerneville (lovely restaurants and cute bars). Hot tip: you can schedule your Lyft rides in advance to and from your destinations so that they can make sure someone is around. Hope to stay here again someday! -via Airbnb

delightful place to spend a vacation

Overall it is a delightful place to spend a vacation and host Thanksgiving. The community is quiet, set back in a dense redwood area. Beds are comfy, bathrooms modern and functional, internet worked well after a reset, lots of books and games to entertain, plenty of high quality linens. The kitchen had every utensil, dish, and pan we needed to cook breakfasts and a Thanksgiving meal for 5 adults and some babies. Hot tub is delightful and there's an outdoor space heater tower thing that works. Wood stove in the fireplace we didn't use but seemed nice. Things you might want to be aware of, but were by no means deal breakers: As others mention the house is dark inside, with much natural light blocked by the beautiful redwoods. Some of us found this very cozy, while others struggled with the low light levels. Also, heating is a collection of baseboard heaters and electric heaters. VERY sufficient, but could be a hazard for curious baby hands. We had no issues with ours though. -via Airbnb

This place was perfect for us (and our dog)! We felt very at home. A well-fenced-in yard allowed the dog to explore. The view from the hot tub was gorgeous. Everything was super clean too. The interior space was roomy, clean, and very nice. It is in the forest with other houses. It is a beautiful setting. However, there is little sunlight because of all the trees. The place is great. Just fine. However, one should be prepared to either bring in all essentials not provided (as described in host's instructions) or drive out get them. -via Airbnb

We had a beautiful rainy weekend with the family here. The home is clean, well-appointed, and matched the description. The backyard is absolutely beautiful and looks out into the redwoods. It was rainy and cool the weekend we stayed and the house was cozy and comfortable. There are other homes around but in the backyard, it is quiet, peaceful, and surrounded by nature. We had a lovely stay in Cazadero! The lodge was so cozy and comfortable, the yard was fantastic for our dogs, and the rooms were clean and spacious. A perfect weekend retreat with close access to hike the nearby redwoods, explore towns nearby, and visit the ocean! The majority of our group had cell service in the home (+reliable WiFi), but the signal would drop in the areas a few minutes' drive away, so be sure to load your GPS instructions or any other data on your phone before heading out. The house was perfect for our family with two teenagers and a dog! Enough space for everyone to have a bed but also be together for meals, games, and hot tub. The house is very nicely remodeled and extremely comfortable. The biggest bedroom (with the Q) does have a skylight so better for early risers. The house is in a very beautiful, very wooded setting, that is also surprisingly residential so the accessible outdoor space is limited - but feels private and very functional. The location is great! There's nothing walkable from the house, but lots of fun activities and resources are available a very short drive away. Our family really enjoyed our getaway weekend!-via Airbnb

Very nice house, clean, well setup for toddlers and children. Kitchen had everything needed to cook. Hot tub well maintained. There was both a gas and charcoal grill, very nice. The management group were very responsive to our requests and quickly solved minor issue-via Airbnb

We loved our stay at Austin Landing. The house was beautiful, very quiet with easy access to the river and the coast. River Homes sent us clear instructions and the house manual was extremely helpful. Lovely home! Very clean, well stocked and beautifully decorated in a mid-century style (with a touch of rustic). Location feels very private and even with the windows open it was silent at night (which I LOVE). One note to future renters, something that might matter to some and not others... there are three bedrooms and the beds include two queens and one king. Oddly, the "best" (biggest, brightest and most private) bedroom has a queen bed, while the king is in one of the smaller rooms near the shared bath. I wish the king bed was in the room that feels like it's the main bedroom. We would definitely stay again. Very comfortable and relaxing home.-via Airbnb

The space is quiet, clean and well maintained. It was nice to be outside the busiest parts of the Russian River but still close. The hot tub was amazing and the view is so beautiful. Everything matched the photos and description. We wanted to stay longer.-via Airbnb

My husband and I had a really lovely stay at this home right after our wedding for a quick getaway to decompress. It was such a cozy and well appointed space - we actually didn’t leave very much because we enjoyed the house so much. It is easy to find but tucked away in a really quiet and peaceful part of Cazadero, but not deep in the boonies. Super accessible to Monte Rio Beach, which we love because it is dog friendly. We also went into Guerneville for a nice dinner and also our to Goat Rock Beach in Jenner to explore. All very close by via car. Will definitely come back to this Airbnb and bring friends with!-via Airbnb
