Description

Foxwood is a thoroughly modern cabin with oodles of light and completely updated interiors! The remodeled kitchen and BBQ on the back deck will have you cooking up a storm for the family - or with friends - while the kids are deciding which movies to watch, board games to play, or begging to go to the Monte Rio Public Beach - just a few minutes' walk away. In the summer, guests have access to two canoes to take to the river and can rent more at the beach. There's also a playground, open meadow and several restaurants in walking distance.

The living room, family/media room, and master bedroom are set up with TVs so hang out together or split up to watch separate movies or sports games. And with barn doors separating the Family/media room from the dining room and kitchen, you can sleep in or have some privacy when coffee and breakfast start in the morning. We think you'll love the flexible layout and all the opportunities to play and relax at Foxwood!

Don't miss the hot tub set into the back deck and the outdoor shower to rinse off after playing at the river!

Know Before You Book:

Maximum Occupancy and Quiet Hours:
The maximum occupancy at Foxwood is 4 people. Quiet hours are from 10:00 pm until 7:00 am. Outdoor amplified sound is prohibited at any time.

Parking:
There is parking for 2 to 3 cars. Two full size or 3 small cars can fit comfortably in front of the house on the street (designated for this home). While it's possible to pull one very small car into the yard (through the gate), we do not recommend it. Street parking is scarce. RVs, trailers and campers are prohibited, per the Sonoma County Vacation Rental Ordinance.

Bed Sizes:
Master bedroom: Queen bed; Second bedroom: Twin bunk bed; Family/Media room: Queen sleeper sofa.

Heat Source:
This house has central heat plus a gas fireplace in the living room.

Stairs:
The yard at Foxwood is very flat, but there are several steps at each entrance to the house. Once inside, the house is all on one level.

Fencing:
The yard is fully fenced when the entry gate is closed.

Docks and Boats:
Docks and beaches are seasonal only and available from mid-June to mid-September providing the summer dams are in. Canoes and kayaks are provided in some of our homes and are available from mid-June to mid-September only. The river is usually too swift for boating in the winter and many docks and beaches are under water until late spring.

Proximity to Wineries:
The closest tasting rooms are in downtown Guerneville (4.3 mi.) and there are many, many more at vineyards within 15 minutes by car.

Nearest River Beach:
The nearest river access is the Monte Rio Public Beach at .2 mi from the house. It is a comfortable walk and the downriver section of the beach is dog-friendly. In the summer, there are concession stands and you can rent additional boats at the beach.

Nearest Ocean Beach:
The coastal beaches in Jenner are approx. 9 miles.

A note about the lot at the end of the street:
Construction is happening at the end of the road, usually beginning at 8 am on weekdays. Crews are not typically active on the weekends. The amount of noise from the activity will vary as the project progresses. The project is expected to last through sometime in 2024.

Modern getaway close to river

We had a wonderful time over Thanksgiving. Our favorite feature of this home was the ability to entertain in separate sections whether that be the living room, family room, or deck with hot tub or backyard. We had a bit of a snafu with the door lock our 3rd day there and I mention this because the maintenance crew was phenomenal. They were there within 10 minutes to fix the issue and gone within 15. Extremely responsive which is comforting as cell service is hit or miss in Russian River area.-via Airbnb

A real hidden gem in Monte Rio

You would never know this wonderful gem was there driving into Monte Rio. The home was spacious, updated, and well appointed.Unfortunately, it rained so we didn’t spend much time outside but would have made use of the hammock.But we took advantage of the hot tub; it was a real treat on the cool evenings.We definitely made use of the Weber BBQ for roasting oysters we got from Hog Island in Marshall. We brought along our two yellow labs; they had plenty of space to roam outside or just relax with us in the living room.Best of all it was so peaceful and quiet in this little neighborhood.We had concerns about staying inland instead of the coast; but Foxwood sure changed our minds.Thank you for having such a nice place to enjoy!

We were in Monte Rio for a wedding what a quaint location. The home was newly updated with plenty of room and storage. The outside area had nice outdoor furniture and also offered beach toys for kids and adults. We didn’t have time to use them but I thought that was a nice thing to offer. Monte Rio Getaway

The Foxwood is everything you see online and more. We were happily surprised that not only was the property clean and updated but had many additional amenities. The home comes with all you need for cooking. There are so many games and activities for use. The property is across the street from the beach on the Russian River and it is close to multiple convenience stores. We definitely look forward to visiting again.-via Vrbo

We had a wonderful stay at Foxwood. The house was super clean. The decor was contemporary & fun for this wonderful cozy home. It had everything you need for a great stay. We have stayed in a ton of VBRO up and down the coast of Cali & Oregon this in the top 5. It’s super close to the river and all the redwoods for great hiking. I am going to give it a five star. I just would recommend more towels and liquid hand soap in the kitchen. We were 2 adults and one teenager so more towels would be great. We just did a few loads of laundry otherwise everything was spot on. We would definitely stay again. Thank you, Foxwood.-via Vrbo

All weekend long one of my kids kept referring this house as a "5-star stay". Hah. We all had a great time here. The house is laid out in a way that gives kids and adults spaces to hang out without being on top of each other, but also plenty of ways to hang together, too. Games were played, books were read in the hammocks and the hot tub was without a doubt enjoyed. We also loved that we could walk down to the public beach. We had a great stay! The home was very clean and well maintained. Loved how updated it was (especially the modern kitchen and bathrooms) but it still had a charming bungalow vibe. Lots of outdoor areas to hang out in. Super convenient to Monte Rio beach and Rio Cafe. The outdoor furniture could use a little sprucing up but it is also under the trees so that’s to be expected. Hot tub was amazing and probably one of the cleanest Airbnb hot tubs I’ve been in! Would definitely recommend this place :)-via Airbnb

Foxwood was a beautiful house; very modern and clean with all needed amenities. A 10 minute walk to the Monte Rio Public Beach (which has a beach for swimming and a separate boat launch area). They had two single kayaks available, although we did not use them. The hot tub was nice, although the water smelled a bit. Good communication, easy check-in, very nice and comfortable space, clean, well stocked kitchen. Good location, 10 min drive to Guerneville and Occidental downtowns, 35 min to Healdsburg, 12 min to Jenner, 35 min drive to Timber Cove. Fully fenced and a comfortable outdoor space which we appreciated a lot traveling with two dogs and two little ones. We were lucky to have nice weather in winter and we used the hot tub which was great. Outdoor space is great but might need a bit of updating to make it fabulous. We had a wonderful stay.-via Airbnb

Foxwood was very much as advertised, quite spacious with two living/family areas and plenty of outdoor space to relax and chill, including front and backyard seating, outdoor dining, a sandbox, hot tub, and even a hammock! The location is private, with a tall fence and locked gate surrounding the property (which makes it great for dogs). It was convenient to walk to Monte Rio Beach, especially during July 4th when it was packed and the parking lot was full. The only downside was that the couches and beds weren't particularly comfortable, as everything is basically furnished by Ikea.

My family of four had a great time staying at Foxwood. The property is very-well maintained and is kid-safe/friendly (we have a 5 year old and 1.5 year old). We felt very much at home there. The location is also great, as it is just a few minutes walk to the river and there are plenty of things to do within a short drive away. We would recommend it and plan on staying there again.

This house was the perfect spot for our family of 4. From the bunk bed to the toys and games to the hot tub - my kids adored it all. I appreciated the well-laid out kitchen that had everything we needed for all our meals. We also loved how close it is to the river - an easy walk for all, including my 3 year old. Highly recommend!

We were very comfortable with our stay at Foxwood. The property has many perks that include a front patio with seating, a side deck with hot tub, grill and picnic table, and a large back yard with seating, small garden, shed equipped with outdoor rec stuff and a play space for kids. The gate makes for a private feeling even though it is in a tightly laid out neighborhood. The house has a comfortable living room with a gas fireplace. The kitchen is will stocked with all you need to cook and bake for those who go beyond the basics, and good sized where three can work comfortably and a large dining table. The back room serves different functions; a private sleeping area with a comfortable pull out couch, or a separate tv, play space. Two nice bathrooms one has the washer/dryer the other is off the main bedroom. Overall plenty of room to unpack and not feel crowded. FYI-The bunkbed in the 2nd bedroom is really made for kids as the mattresses are thin and not very comfortable for a teen or adult.

Foxwood is a beautiful vacation home, spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Tucked away behind a tall fence the yard is the perfect spot for relaxing and enjoying the sunshine in complete privacy. Minutes walk to the quaint little Monte Rio beach make it a great location. We enjoyed exploring the area, playing golf at Northwood, dining in Guernville and also driving west to explore the beautiful Sonoma Coast.

We rent a cabin in the Russian River area once or twice a year, but this was our first stay with Russian River Vacation Homes, and we'll be back! Foxwood is every bit as adorable as the photos suggest. It was especially nice to have a place with modern decor and a well laid out kitchen. We enjoyed being close enough to town to grab supplies, but the property itself feels quiet and secluded. The hot tub and the hammock made our vacation the relaxing getaway we needed.

I am an extremely picky traveler and usually prefer hotels. I can't even begin to express how happy I was walking into this property and also with the excellent service from Russian River Vacation Homes. My mother is visiting for a few months and I was looking for a peaceful place to get away with our family. Jordan helped us with our reservation. He was very nice and super quick to reply and take care of us. I had started on Airbnb and it was so exhausting waiting around for owners to get back to me with my questions, etc. I was so happy this rental was managed by a rental company so I could get an instant response.We were so surprised with the property. It's beautiful with a contemporary design, fully stocked with amenities, looks brand new, and it's like your own little oasis once you enter the gate.....and super clean! That's coming from a very meticulous person. The owners did an excellent job with their design and efficient setup. New TVs in almost every room, fully stocked kitchen, hot tub, BBQ, great outdoor space, and even little details like board games and an Xbox. I also love that it's all one level with a wonderful outdoor space (great for my toddler and my Mother). I have real estate experience, and this rental company does an excellent job. I received all of the info I needed prior to arrival and everything is communicated in the home binder as well. The home was stocked with everything you need and very clean and inviting upon arrival. Very happy with the property and service, and will be sure to come back to this property and/or rental company the next time we decide to do another trip in the area.

One always wonders if a property lives up to the expectations created by the photos. This charming bungalow does! Once you enter the privacy gate, you are in a private world of your own. Inside, everything felt recently remodeled. We loved the modern flair and well appointed kitchen. Outside, there are two lounge areas and a third space with a hot tub. We travel to the Healdsburg area once a year to buy wine and our stay here provided a relaxing experience we do not get in a hotel. We will be back!Source: VRBO
